Dropped $340 on a gooseneck kettle and my $22 stovetop pot pours the same cup
Everyone in this hobby swears the pour spout is the whole game, but after 3 months of side by side brewing on my kitchen scale in Seattle the temp swing was 2 degrees at most. Anyone else buy the hype and end up back at the stove?
The temp swing being 2 degrees is the part people skip over. I went down this hole too, weighed my blooms, timed my pours, all of it. Then I realized the kettle was never the problem, my grinder was. Switched burrs and the same $22 pot suddenly made a way better cup than the fancy kettle ever did with bad grounds. Water delivery matters way less than what you're pouring it through.
