I tried brewing with a moka pot on a camp stove in Death Valley and got the worst cup of my life
Packed my 3-cup Bialetti for a camping trip near Furnace Creek and figured the 118 degree heat would not matter since I was cooking outside anyway. The thing sputtered and sprayed grounds everywhere and what came out tasted like burnt rubber mixed with pennies. Turns out the flame was way too hot and I never let the water preheat right. Anyone got tips for keeping a moka pot from scorching when you are stuck cooking over a roaring campfire?
