Just realized my pour over went from 4 minutes to 7 and it took me 6 weeks to figure out why
Back when I started making pour over in my Kansas City kitchen around 2019, my brews finished right at 4 minutes like clockwork, but sometime last spring they started dragging out to almost 7 and I blamed everything from the beans to my kettle. Turns out my burr grinder had slowly drifted coarser over the months, and after measuring the grind with a cheap sieve I borrowed from my mom's baking drawer, one small twist on the adjustment ring brought the time right back down. Anyone else had a grinder quietly slip on them without you noticing for weeks?
