My buddy swore by pre-wetting filters before brewing. I thought it was pointless.

Tried it with my V60 last week using tap water from my sink in Portland. The bloom looked way better and my cup actually tasted cleaner. Has anyone else noticed a real difference or is this just placebo nonsense?

Tried it myself a few months ago with my Kalita Wave and it was a game changer. The filter sticks flat to the sides so no channeling happens, and my brew times got way more consistent. I use tap water too, from my sink in Austin, and the difference was pretty clear after a few cups back to back. The hotter water hitting the dry paper just seems to alter the flow rate or something. You sticking with the V60 or have you played with other drippers since?

Yeah @beth_ward80, glad someone else saw the same thing with the Kalita.
