My coffee went from burnt water to amazing after I finally cleaned my grinder
For like 6 months, my morning cup tasted bitter and weak, and I blamed the beans. Last week, I took apart my Baratza Encore and found a solid brick of old coffee oil and grounds clogging everything. Cleaned it all out with a brush and some Grindz tablets, and the next brew was a totally different drink, way more flavor and clarity. Has anyone else been shocked by how much a simple clean can change everything?

Oh man, same thing with my cheap blade grinder. The difference was crazy after a scrub.

Solid brick of old coffee oil" is the most disgusting good news I've heard all week. It's like you were punishing yourself with bean soup for half a year. @mia_thompson13 gets it, we all turn into lazy monsters with our gear. I put off cleaning my french press for so long the sludge at the bottom had its own ecosystem. The first clean cup after that felt like a religious experience.
