My French press exploded on me this morning and I nearly quit coffee
I was standing in my kitchen in Austin around 6:30 AM, pressing down the plunger like I have for 15 years. Then the glass carafe just shattered. Hot coffee and glass went everywhere across my counter and floor. I stood there in my socks with coffee dripping down the cabinets. Turns out I had poured boiling water straight from the kettle into the cold press. Never had that happen before. I cleaned it up, waited 10 minutes, then brewed a cup using my old drip machine. Has anyone else had a press break on them like that?
