Pro tip: my grinder's burr slipped mid-batch and I ground 40 grams into dust
Saturday morning I was dialing in a new bag of Ethiopian beans and about 15 seconds into the grind I heard this ugly rattle, then the grind just went wide open and dumped 40 grams into near powder. Turns out the little locking screw on the burr carrier had backed out, and I never checked it since I got the grinder 8 months ago. I dumped the dust, found the screw, snugged it down, and re-ground a fresh 18 grams, and the shot actually pulled fine after that. Now I'm wondering what else on my setup I've been ignoring since day one. What parts do you all actually check on a schedule, and how often?
