Tried a pour over vs my old french press for a month straight, no contest

I switched to a Hario V60 for 4 weeks after using a french press for like 6 years. The clarity is just way better. My french press always left that sludge at the bottom and the flavors all blended together. With the V60 I can actually taste the citrus notes in a light roast from a local roaster in Portland. I'm not saying french press is bad but for single origin stuff it's night and day. Has anyone else made a switch like that and felt the same?

I mean I switched to a V60 from a french press too and honestly it just made me realize how much I was relying on that sludge to feel like I made coffee at all.

@clairem38 exactly, that sludge was doing a lot of heavy lifting. The V60 just strips it all away and leaves you with pure flavor. It almost feels too clean at first but you get used to it quick.
