Was stubborn about pour-over cones until I broke my Chemex

Had that big glass Chemex for 3 years. Loved it. Then I dropped it on my tile floor at 6am last Tuesday. Coffee and glass everywhere. Had to use my roommate's old plastic V60 cone instead. Honestly the brew was cleaner and I spent $8 on a ceramic one the same day. Anyone else stick with one method for ages then switch overnight?

Swear there's something about breaking the one thing you're committed to that finally makes you try something else. Like I used those same hiking boots for six years till the sole came off on a trail, borrowed my friend's cheap trail runners and never looked back. Or my dad who refused to switch from his flip phone until it fell in a puddle, now he's got a smartphone and won't shut up about maps. Sometimes you just need a disaster to shake you out of a routine that was honestly fine but not the best.
