Counted my long boxes last weekend and hit exactly 1,000 issues, which is weirdly the number that made me stop buying
I'd been picking up singles at my shop in Tacoma every Wednesday for about 6 years and never really tracked how many I had. When I finally stacked them all up and counted, seeing that round number made me realize I was buying way more than I was actually reading. Anyone else hit a shelf number that made them pump the brakes on their pull list?
Kept a spreadsheet for my games backlog a few years back and it did the same thing, seeing like 200 unplayed titles just killed the fun of buying more. It's funny how a number on a screen or a stack on the floor can flip a switch in your brain that years of gut feeling never did. You stop seeing the hobby and start seeing the pile.
