I heard two long-time collectors arguing about pressing comics, one says it ruins the history.

One guy at the shop said pressing a comic flattens out the original newsprint feel and kills the collector value, but the other guy swore it's the only way to get a 9.8 grade. Which side do you fall on, do you press your keys or leave them raw?

Pressing a silver age key I had came back a 9.6 and sold for double what the raw copy was worth...

And it's the same stuff with everything now, people are chasing that perfect grade instead of just enjoying what they got... feels like the whole hobby is turning into a stock market.
