Just hit issue 500 in my collection and it hit me different

I was sorting my longboxes last weekend and realized I have exactly 500 comics now. I never thought I'd get there, it just snuck up on me over 8 years. Most of them are random buys from flea markets and dollar bins, not even key issues. The crazy part is I've only read like half of them, the rest are just sitting there. How many issues do you guys have before you start feeling like you need to stop? Or do you just keep going no matter what?

Honestly, 500 is a solid milestone, it creeps up on you like that. I'm sitting at around 300 myself and I feel that same "need to stop" guilt every time I grab another dollar bin haul.

Rayy83 you're right it does creep up on you but I wouldn't call it guilt exactly. More like that weird feeling when you realize you've been doing something for years just because you like it. 500 is a lot but I think once you cross like 200 or so the "need to stop" thing kind of fades away and you just accept the chaos. I have probably around 700 now and half of them I've never cracked open either. The dollar bin buys are the worst for that, you grab them because they look cool and then they just sit there forever.
