My LCS owner told me to stop hoarding #1s, he was right
Went into Comic Vault in Austin last month with a stack of 30 random #1 issues I'd grabbed over 5 years, thinking they'd pay for a convention trip. Owner Mike flipped through them and said "nobody cares about these unless they're keys, sell the run you actually read." Sold the junk for $40 store credit, traded for a full Brubaker Captain America run, and now I actually look forward to my pull box. Anyone else have a store owner who gave you hard advice that improved your collecting?

That Mike guy sounds like he knows his stuff, but I gotta ask: how many of those 30 books were actually first appearances of B-list characters from the last 10 years? Those are the ones clogging dollar bins everywhere. I bet half your stack was Image #1s from 2016 that didn't even make it to issue 12. The real question is how long did it take you to admit he was right? Because I had a similar wake-up call with my long boxes full of variant covers nobody asked for, and it took me a full year to stop grabbing every #1 that looked shiny. Did you sell any of those books on your own first, or did you just take the store credit and walk away?
