My long box of X-Men comics got soaked when the pipe burst in my apartment
I came home to a burst pipe in my apartment in Cincinnati on Tuesday and my long box of X-Men comics from the 90s was sitting right under the leak. About 40 issues got soaked, including a graded copy of Uncanny X-Men #266 that I saved up for back in high school. Does anybody know if a comic that's already water damaged is even worth taking to a shop for pressing, or am I just wasting my time?

Ugh man that really sucks, I feel for you. I had a similar thing happen a few years back when my basement flooded and about 30 issues got wrecked. I took the ones that mattered most to a presser and he was straight with me, said pressing can help with wavy pages and some staining but it won't undo water damage all the way, and if the pages are stuck together thats pretty much it. The graded copy is the tricky one though, if the slab got wet and the label is messed up you might be better off sending it back to CGC for a reholder, but they wont fix the book itself. I'd still take them in and get an honest look before you write anything off, worst case you're out a few bucks for the visit.
