My Wednesday comics pull sheet went completely missing mid-week

I usually keep a little notebook with my pull list but someone at the store grabbed it by mistake and now I'm trying to remember if I pre-ordered that new Ultimate Spider-Man issue. Anybody else have a system for tracking pre-orders that won't get swiped?

I usually keep a little notebook with my pull list" isn't exactly a fail-safe system, is it? Sounds like you're blaming the notebook but really it's just bad luck. I mean come on, it's a pull list not a secret government document. If you forgot what you pre-ordered that's on you not some random guy grabbing your notebook. Honestly just call the shop and ask them to check their computer records. They have digital records for all that stuff anyway so you're not actually lost. The whole system of tiny notebooks and handwritten lists feels like you're making it harder than it needs to be.

Hey hold on, that's not quite right. Most shops don't actually have digital records of your pre-orders unless you specifically set up an online account with them. I've been going to my local store for years and they still do everything on paper pull sheets, no computer system at all. So if my notebook walked off, I'd be completely lost on what I ordered too. Plus calling them isn't always a quick fix - sometimes the owner isn't there or the person on the phone doesn't know how to look things up the old school way. I get that a notebook isn't perfect but it's what a lot of us have to work with, especially at smaller shops that haven't gone digital yet.
