Shoutout to the guy at my LCS who made me see silver age comics differently
After 8 years of only buying modern variants, he let me flip through his beat-up 1967 Fantastic Four issue and I finally understood that the cheap, worn pages actually have more soul than my shiny $15 dollar reprints, so has anyone else had that moment where old comics just clicked for them?

My uncle handed me a beat up Avengers 57 when I was like 14 and I remember being annoyed it wasn't bagged and boarded. Then I actually read it and the yellowed pages made it feel like something real people had held. Now I barely touch my slabbed stuff.
