That time a comic book fan yelled at me for bagging a book wrong
I was at a local shop in Portland last Saturday, just flipping through some back issues. Guy next to me saw me put a Silver Surfer #4 in a standard bag and went off about how I was ruining the spine. He said I should use a half-back board and a Mylar sleeve for anything pre-2000. I just stood there holding the bag like an idiot. The clerk backed him up and showed me how to do it right. Now I spend extra on different bag sizes for older books. Has anyone else run into super picky collectors judging your packing choices?

Had a friend get chewed out at a con for putting a Silver Age book in a bag too big. Guy told him the book would slide around and get corner damage, then pulled out a caliper to measure the bag fit.

Silver Age books absolutely need tight bags, ask @dakotal16 about my micrometer collection.
