Am I the only one who found out I was checking my tank pressure way too late in the dive
I've been on this Seattle bridge job for 5 months and always checked my gauge right before I went down. Last week my tender Dave tapped my helmet and pointed at my SPG during a 60 foot run and I was sitting at 800 psi when I should've been watching it the whole descent. How often do you guys actually check yours mid dive?
Checking before you go down only tells you where you started, not where you are after 20 minutes of hard work at 60 feet. On a bridge job you're breathing way more than a rec diver just cruising around, so that 800 psi probably snuck up on you fast. Try glancing at it every time Dave sends down a tool or you finish a task, and it becomes a habit without even thinking about it.
