Burned $800 on an old Kirby Morgan that should've stayed on the boat
Bought a used KM 37 off a guy in Louisiana last April, thought I was getting a deal. Did the basic leak test in his driveway, looked fine. Got it to the shop for its first real job and the regulator froze up at 60 feet. Rebuild kit, new hoses, and a full inspection ran me $800 over what I paid. The seller probably knew the exhaust valve was shot, but I didn't do a proper dive test before handing over cash. Anyone else ever get burned on a used helmet or mask that looked solid but fell apart on the first real dive?
