Cleaned my first hull solo last week in Tampa Bay

It was a 45-foot sailboat, and I managed to finish the whole job in under four hours. Anyone have tips for dealing with thick barnacle patches on fiberglass?

Four hours on a 45-footer is crazy fast. I've done that same job in Tampa and thick barnacles on fiberglass are no joke. You must have been going at it with a metal scraper, which is a huge risk for the gel coat. I always start with a plastic putty knife to get the bulk off, then a dedicated fiberglass safe scraper for the stubborn bits. Going that hard can leave some serious scratches.

Bet he's got a buffer and compound ready to go right after.
