Debate: Should we run full deco schedules or trust the computers?
I was on a job last week in Galveston on a pipeline repair, and two guys got into it over deco stops. One guy swears by his Shearwater and says follow the computer, never question it. The other guy pulled out the old Navy tables and said computers are too conservative, they waste time and gas. I sat there thinking, both have a point. Computers can glitch or get set wrong, but tables are slow and don't account for real conditions. What do you all do on a deep job, say 130 feet for an hour? Has anyone had a computer fail on them underwater?

Paul, you ever just run the computer and then catch a mistake on the tables? I had a buddy who did that on a 120 foot gas dive. His Shearwater was off by six minutes on shallow stops, and the tables saved his O2 planning that day.
