Had a near miss with a faulty umbilical last Tuesday off the coast of Galveston
My umbilical hose started kinking in a way I'd never seen before around 60 feet down. Noticed it when my air flow got choppy and my comms started cutting out. Surface crew pulled me up ASAP and sure enough the inner lining was starting to collapse from age. I'd been using that rig for 2 years without checking the hose condition myself. Anyone else ever have a close call from gear you thought was fine?

Pretty sure that's a regulator hose, not an umbilical.
