My dive instructor told me to skip the drysuit for North Sea work. He was dead wrong.

And once you're in the water, it's not about being uncomfortable anymore, it's about being unsafe. I've seen guys in wetsuits get so stiff they couldn't work their own valves, which is a real problem when you need to adjust your buoyancy fast. A drysuit isn't a luxury in that water, it's the only thing keeping you from making a mistake you can't come back from.

@leobrown reminds me of the time my drysuit zipper blew mid-dive.
