My knife loop was backwards for 2 years until a hose caught it
I was working a pipeline job near Port Fourchon and my dive knife snagged a lift bag line, which made me check how I had it mounted, and it turns out I had the cutting edge facing my body the whole time, which is backwards, so now I ask everyone how they rig their shears or knives for quick access?

Blade toward your body is a classic mistake, mount that sheath on your harness with the edge facing out.
