Quick question about dry suit zipper maintenance on the boat
I've been diving out of Port Angeles for about 3 years now and I keep seeing guys just tossing their dry suits in the gear bag after a dive without even rinsing the zipper. Last weekend I watched a guy try to zip up after his second dive and the thing just stuck halfway. He ended up forcing it and I'm pretty sure he wrecked the teeth. Is there a specific way you guys handle your zippers between dives or do you just hose everything off and call it good? I've been spraying mine with silicone lube every 3 dives but not sure if that's too much or not enough.

Silicone lube every 3 dives is way too much, you're just trapping grit in there. You really only need a light spray on the zipper tape maybe once a season if you're rinsing it well after every dive. Have you checked your suit's care tag, mine says no lube at all just fresh water rinse and dry?

Right? Like dude is out here lubing his suit more than I lube my truck's door hinges. At this rate his zipper is going to be more pampered than my whole car.
