Spent $80 on a fancy drysuit zipper pull tool I barely used

Bought one of those overpriced zipper pull tools from a dive expo last spring in Seattle. Thought it would make my suit zipper glide like butter. Tried it once and honestly a little beeswax does the exact same thing for free. Anyone else fall for a gimmick that's basically just repackaged wax?

Disagree with you a bit here. I bought one of those same tools a few years back and it actually saved me a trip to the repair shop when a piece of gravel got stuck in my zipper track on a cold morning. Beeswax is fine for regular maintenance but it won't help you pry open a jammed zipper or get debris out of the teeth without damaging the seal. The tool has a little hook and a flat edge that does things wax just cant do. I use mine maybe twice a year but those two times make it worth the price for me.

@jennifersmith you're right, that hook actually saved my zipper on a rocky beach last summer, worth it for that alone.
