Strobe light fell off my helmet during a night dive

Running a repair job on a jetty out of Port Angeles last Tuesday, and my backup strobe just popped off its mount around 30 feet down. Had it zip tied like always, but the cold water made the plastic brittle and it snapped clean. I had to finish the weld with no blinking light on my back, which sucked because the vis was down to maybe 5 feet. Got back up and spent an hour rigging a steel hose clamp setup that sits way more secure. Has anyone else lost gear to cold water cracks or do you use a different mounting trick?

You ever trust a zip tie with your life then watch it just give up like that? I used to think zip ties were good enough for everything, but after my dive computer mount cracked the same way last winter, I switched to stainless clamps and never looked back. Cold water is no joke.
