Switched to a Kirby Morgan band mask after a bad day in the Gulf
Got a free flow at 90 feet off a rig near Port Fourchon and the old Poseidon I was using just couldn't keep up with the comms chatter. Has anyone else had better luck with a different mask setup for deep air?

Oh man, free flow at 90 feet is the stuff of nightmares lol. I had one hit me at 60 feet on a check out dive and I nearly flooded my lungs trying to keep calm while wrestling with the reg. Your poor comms engineers probably hated life too with all that noise. I actually swapped to a full face Ocean Reef after that same kind of disaster and man, the difference is night and day for deep air work. The seal on the KM is great though, you definitely win on durability for sure. Maybe I just have a weird shaped head that laughed at the Poseidon haha.

Kirby Morgan is usually a solid choice for deep air, the comms clarity alone makes a huge difference when you're working around a rig. I've heard guys swear by the Ocean Reef Neptune for similar deep water stuff too because it cuts down the free flow risk with that full face seal.
