That time I lost 3 days of work to a broken lift bag in Port Fourchon

Last spring down in Port Fourchon, I had a 12-foot lift bag blow a seam on the third day of a big job. We were setting anchors for a new dock, and that bag was supposed to lift a 200-pound concrete block. Instead of getting it done in one shift, I spent 2 days waiting for a replacement bag to show up from the supplier. The client wasn't happy about the delay, and I ate the cost for the extra time. Has anyone else had a piece of gear fail like that and mess up your whole week?

blew a seam on the third day" yeah that sucks man. I used to think you could just patch a lift bag with some heavy duty tape and get back to work, but seeing how bad this went down changed my mind completely. A blown seam is a total game over moment, there's no fixing that on site. I got burned the same way with a cheap bag from a discount supplier once, and now I only buy from guys who have a solid warranty and stock backups. It's rough having to explain to a client why you're sitting on your hands waiting for a part to show up, makes you look real unprofessional even if it's not your fault.

Hold up though, a lot of the higher end bags use welded seams now instead of stitched ones, so a blowout there is toast but a stitched seam you can actually sew up on site if you carry a palm needle and some waxed thread.
