Appreciation post: I switched to online drivers and never looked back

Factory disks messed up after Windows updates. Now I grab drivers from the web, and my jobs go smoother. How do you handle driver installs?

Grab drivers from the web" can be risky, stick to the manufacturer's site just my two cents

Hmm, but sometimes the official site has drivers from like 2015. Ended up on the actual chip maker's page for a fix.

My laptop's audio driver was from 2018, so I get why the_diana went to the chip maker, even if wren958 says that's risky.
