Cleaned a client's tower that was running 20 degrees hotter just from dust.
It was a Dell OptiPlex 7080 in a small office with carpet. The intake was completely blocked. After a full clean with compressed air, the CPU temp dropped from 85C to 65C at idle. Has anyone else seen a jump that big from just cleaning?

My old gaming rig dropped 15 degrees after hitting the filters.

Cleaning out my filters made a huge difference too! My old PC sounded like a jet engine before I noticed the dust buildup. I took the side panel off and used a can of air on the front intake and the PSU filter. The fan noise went way down and my games stopped stuttering from thermal throttling. It's crazy how much gunk builds up over a year.

Wow, that's a huge drop! Were the filters just completely clogged with dust, or did you change something else too? Fifteen degrees makes me wonder what your temps were hitting before. I'm always surprised how much a simple cleaning can help an older system.
