Client swore the printer was broken, it was a 3 cent rubber band
Last Thursday I drove 40 minutes across town for an office call because their label printer was jamming on every single sheet. Turns out a tiny rubber band from a broccoli bunch had slipped inside the feed tray and was grabbing the paper edges every time, and the guy just stared at me while I pulled it out with tweezers. Do you charge full price for stuff like this or do you feel too bad and knock it down?
A rubber band from broccoli? Like the little green ones that hold the bunch together? How does that even end up inside a printer, did someone just fling it across the room and it landed in the one spot that would cause total chaos? And the guy had to stand there and watch you find out it was produce packaging that ruined your whole day. I would have asked him if he sells broccoli at a computer store, because clearly that is the real problem here.
