PSA: A bad RAM stick in a Gateway desktop ate 5 days of my life

Memtest86 passed twice because the fault only showed under heat, so I swapped the power supply, reseated the CPU, and even reinstalled Windows before I caught it. Anyone else got a trick for forcing an intermittent stick to fail on demand?
