Shoutout to that old IT guy at a school in Cleveland
He showed me a trick for reseating RAM sticks with a dollar bill. Changed how I handle stubborn boot errors now. Anybody else got weird field fixes that stuck with you?

Takes a certain kind of clever to figure out something like that. I've noticed that weird fixes like that mostly come from people who've been working with old tech long enough to know what actually works versus what the manual says. Like how a rubber band can hold a loose laptop battery in place for another year, or how a paperclip can jumpstart a stuck power button. Those little hacks end up being more reliable than half the official solutions out there.

Not sure I totally agree with that, @jordan_webb49. A lot of those hacks feel more like making do than actual clever fixes, and sometimes they just make things worse in the long run. That rubber band trick might work for a while but good luck when the battery finally gives out and you've got sticky residue all over the place.
