That $150 'premium' thermal paste was a total waste of money
I spent 6 hours at my shop in Phoenix re-pasting three gaming rigs with Liquid Ultra, and after all that hassle my CPU temps dropped only 2 degrees compared to the cheap tube I'd used before, so has anyone else found high-end paste is just marketing hype?
Learned that lesson the hard way when I dropped 20 bucks on a tube of Thermal Grizzly for my own build and got maybe 1 degree out of it. The real kicker was when I ran out halfway through and finished the job with the crusty old paste that came free with my cooler, temps were basically the same. Six hours of your life for 2 degrees is rough, my friend. Next time just grab the $8 stuff and spend the saved cash on a case fan.
