Warning: A customer's offhand comment made me change how I route cables forever
Back in 2018 I was working on a network rack for a dental office in Portland. Had everything zip tied neat and tight like I always did. Customer was some IT guy who walked in and said "you know those tight bundles are gonna cause crosstalk if you got any POE runs." Told him he was wrong but looked it up later. He was right. Now I leave service loops and don't cinch cables down so hard. Anyone else run into something a customer pointed out that actually turned out to be correct?

Wait hold on. A dentist's IT guy knew more about cable physics than you? That's wild. POE runs generate heat too. Tighter bundles cook the cables from the inside out.
Learned that one the hard way on a security camera install.

That dentist probably runs CAT6 through his root canals too.
