Why does every client think a dead power supply means the motherboard is toast?
Had a client in Dayton bring in a rig that wouldn't post, and before I even opened the case they were already pricing out a new board. Swapped in a spare PSU from my bench, fired right up, and the old unit tested bad on my load tester. Anyone else constantly fighting the assumption that the first part they see is the part that's dead, or do you just always bill for the diagnostic time and let them learn the hard way?
