Finally pulled the trigger on a power trowel upgrade last month

My old one was giving me grief on a big garage slab job, so I spent about $2,800 on a new model with a bigger blade. It cut my finishing time by almost an hour on the next pour and gave me a way smoother finish. I was worried it was a big cost for just one tool, but it's already paying off. Anyone have a favorite brand for power trowel blades they swear by?

Whoa, $2,800 just for the trowel? That's a serious chunk of change! I get it's an investment, but man, that number still makes me flinch a little. Glad to hear it's working out for you though, saving an hour is huge. For blades, I've had good luck with the same brand @pat142 mentioned, they last a good while without any drama. A smooth finish with no extra hassle is worth every penny, even if the first cost stings.

Man, $2,800 is a big number, I feel you on that! I had the same worry when I upgraded my saw last year and it stung for a bit. @derek868 is right though, saving that hour and getting a better finish makes it all worth it in the long run.
