Heard a young guy say stamps are obsolete, made me think about trowel work

Was on a job in Tacoma last week and this kid said nobody hand finishes anymore, just use stamp mats. I get the speed part, but I watched my old man do a full driveway in San Diego back in '89 with just a magnesium trowel and it looked better than anything I've seen stamped since. Anyone else feel like the craft gets lost when you skip the hand work?

Kid probably thinks a trowel is something you use to eat cereal with lol. Bet his stamped driveway looks real pretty until the first crack shows up.
