Some inspector's throwaway comment made me redo a whole driveway in Tulsa

Last Thursday I was finishing a 2,300 square foot stamped job and this inspector walks by, doesn't even stop, just says 'you know your expansion joints are 3 feet too far apart on this slab.' I laughed it off, but then I measured and he was right, I laid them at 14 feet instead of 11 because I was rushing the layout. Had to sawcut new joints and fill the old ones with sealant, cost me an extra 5 hours and $120 in material. Has anyone else had a random one-liner from a city guy that turned out to be spot on? I'm second guessing my spacing math now.
