Someone cut the control joints wrong at a job in Denver and the slab cracked in 5 days
I was on a commercial pour off Colfax last month and the saw cuts were spaced 14 feet apart on a 5 inch slab. By day 5 we had a random crack running right through the middle near the loading dock. The GC blamed the mix but it was clearly the joint layout. Do you all measure your control joint spacing by slab thickness or just go with what the plans say, because I think we need a standard before this happens again.
