TIL you can broom a wet stamp finish and it looks killer
Was at a job site in Toledo last month watching a guy do a stamped patio. He broomed the surface while it was still wet after the stamp and it gave this cool textured look. Has anyone else tried mixing broom and stamp finishes together?

blake432 saying Toledo gets enough rain is exactly why broom finishing makes sense there. That broomed texture actually sheds water faster than smooth stamp because it gives rain somewhere to run off instead of pooling up in the low spots. I've seen plenty of stamped patios turn into slick ice skating rinks when they get wet, but the broomed surface adds grip so you don't bust your ass with a little moisture. Plus that rough texture hides dirt and tire marks way better than a pristine stamp job that shows every scuff. You might worry about water trapping but honestly the broom lines channel it off to the sides before it can settle in.

Toledo gets enough rain without trapping it in a broomed stamp.

Put a broomed finish on my own driveway a couple years back and never had any issues with water sitting on it. The rain just runs right off the surface before it can puddle up anywhere. Light snow melt and morning dew too, that texture handles all of it way better than a flat stamp ever did.
