Tried a broom finish on a hot day and it came out streaky as hell
Last Tuesday I poured a 30x40 pad for a shed here in Phoenix. Temp hit 95 and the sun was blasting. I figured I'd broom it like usual but the concrete was setting way faster than I thought. I got about halfway across and the surface was already pulling weird. Ended up with these long dark streaks and a rough spot near the edge. Learned I gotta either use a finer broom or have a spray bottle with water to mist the surface before dragging it. Anyone else deal with this on hot pours?

Yeah it's funny how that works. I mean it kinda reminds me of trying to cook pancakes on a griddle that's too hot. The first side looks okay but by the time you flip it the batter is already setting up weird and you get these dark splotches. Same kind of thing with concrete I guess. The heat just messes with the timing and you gotta adjust everything else around it or it fights you the whole way.
