A client told me my blowouts looked 'too stiff' and honestly she was right
Two months ago a regular at my chair in Boise told me my round brush blowouts felt like helmet hair and she wasn't wrong, so I stopped hitting every section with max heat and started rough drying to 80 percent first. My sets take about 10 extra minutes now but the bounce holds for 3 days instead of falling flat by dinner. Any of you still doing the full wet-to-dry iron pass, or did you switch to rough dry too?
The "helmet hair" thing hit home for me because I used to swear that full wet-to-dry iron passes were the only way to get a smooth finish. After a few clients started asking for more movement and less hold, I tried rough drying first and it honestly changed how my sets wear. The extra time up front is worth it when the style still looks good on day two.
