Client told me my highlights were too stripey last month

She was nice about it but basically said it looked like I didn't blend enough around the crown. I switched to using a finer weave in my sectioning pattern and it made a huge difference - anyone else get feedback that totally shifted their technique?

Ugh, I feel you so much on this. A client told me my balayage looked "kind of brassy" a few years back and I was so embarrassed, but it actually made me stop using a certain toner I was too loyal to. Switched to a cooler-based formula and suddenly my work looked way more natural and less like it had that weird orange tint. It's wild how one piece of honest feedback can just unlock that next level for you. I'm glad you found that fix with the finer weave too.

That little voice in the back of your head that tells you to keep doing the same thing is usually wrong. Getting that kind of direct feedback is exactly what breaks you out of a comfort zone you didn't even know you were stuck in. It happens in everything from cooking to fixing cars, someone just being blunt about what's not working forces you to actually level up.
