How I stopped color from making a mess during rinses

I mean, I used to hate how hair color would run everywhere when I rinsed it out. It made the sink a disaster and took a long time to clean. Then I figured out that using cooler water and a gentler stream really helps contain it. Maybe it's just me, but on a client with vibrant purple dye, this kept it from staining her neck. Now I do this every time, and it saves me so much time and stress. It's a quick fix that makes the whole process smoother.

Smart move with cold water. It really does seal the color in better so it doesn't go all over the place. That purple dye would have been a nightmare to clean up. Total game changer for anyone using bright colors. Makes cleanup way faster too.

Tried the cold water trick on a blue dye job last week. It kept the sink from looking like a Smurf crime scene. Also found that rinsing from the roots down helps contain the runoff. Makes the whole cleanup less of a headache. Still had some staining on the towels, but that's half the fun.

Honestly I used to think warm water rinsed better. But trying it with cool water on my own red dye was a total eye opener, way less mess.
