I wasted $300 on a 'professional' color mixing class that was a total scam

Signed up for a two-day workshop in Phoenix last fall, thinking it would teach advanced formulation. The instructor just read from a basic textbook we all had and used cheap, watered-down dye samples. I didn't learn a single new technique and the hands-on portion was a joke. Has anyone found a legit advanced color course that's actually worth the money?

Remember buying a very expensive book on glaze chemistry that promised to unlock secrets. The whole thing was just reprinted pages from old public domain textbooks you could find online for free. It felt like paying for a fancy cover and a sense of betrayal. I'm now deeply suspicious of any workshop that doesn't show you the exact materials list and student results upfront. Your story about the watered down dyes is a classic red flag they're cutting corners.

@lindahunt hit the nail on the head about rehashed materials being the big red flag.
