Just figured out I was overloading my foils for 3 years and a cellphone pic exposed it
I was doing highlights on a client last Thursday and she snapped a pic of the back of her head to send to her friend. I glanced at the screen and noticed the foils were sticking out way too thick at the ends, like little pillows. I always thought more product meant more lift, but all it did was bleed and give her this stripey, patchy result. I went back through my last 20 appointments in my head and it clicked, I've been wrapping twice as much hair as the foil can handle. That's why my processing times were all over the place. I sized down to thinner sections on my next client and it sat so much flatter, no bleed at all. Has anyone else had that moment where a phone photo showed you something the mirror never did?

The first time I realized my foils were too fat was when my client sent me a selfie and I thought she had aluminum foil origami back there. Yikes.
