My client's toner turned her hair a weird shade of green last Thursday
I was in my chair at the salon in Riverside, and the toner grabbed way too much on her pre-lightened ends. I had to do a quick color remover and re-mix with a violet base to cancel it out. Anyone else have a toner go sideways like that?

That viral TikTok story is a perfect example of why toners can be so tricky. It's not just about the formula, but how porous the hair is from previous lightening. When ends are over-processed, they suck up too much of the wrong tone, like that green. It's a good reminder to always do a test strand, even when you're in a hurry.

Makes me see that same rush job energy everywhere. People skip the test strand in all kinds of things, like slapping paint on a wall without checking the color in the light first, or throwing a bunch of random parts at a car repair hoping it just works. You get so focused on fixing the problem fast that you end up creating a bigger, weirder mess, just like green hair.
