My perm client looked like a poodle for 3 days before it settled into perfection

I did a spiral perm on this lady last Thursday (she wanted loose beach waves, not tight curls) and when I took the rods out she looked like a walking cotton ball. I told her "give it 72 hours, it'll drop" and she texted me Sunday with a photo looking exactly like she wanted. Has anyone else had a perm look wild at first then totally transform after a few days?

Oh the DRAMA of the first wash is SO real! I did a spiral perm on my sister last year and she literally cried when she saw herself in the mirror because she looked like a fuzzy sheep. I told her to trust the process and by day 3 it dropped into these beautiful soft waves she still gets complimented on. It's honestly terrifying how tight everything looks at first but the curl just settles down and remembers what it's supposed to do. People don't understand that perms are like a relationship they need a few days to figure themselves out before they calm down.

My friend Beth got a perm last month and the first 48 hours she sent me a photo that looked like she had a poodle glued to her head. I told her to just chill and not touch it for a few days and by day 4 it turned into these really nice beachy waves she still has.
